This is a hand signed matted 8"x10" print of an original watercolor painting titled "Native". Each image is printed with archival inks on watercolor paper stock for a long lasting print resistant to fading. For every print sold, I will be donating 10% of the profit to wildlife rehab facilities, organizations & sanctuaries.
Let's Talk Monarchs: The native monarch butterfly is easily one of the most recognized butterflies in the United States. Their vibrant orange, black and dotted white wings make them stand out beautifully among our native wildflowers.
Every year, monarchs make an epic migration from as far north as Canada all the way down to Mexico. Due to the fact that monarchs are excellent pollinators, they provide an invaluable service while migrating south allowing our ecosystems to thrive.
Unfortunately in recent years due to climate change and other environmental factors, our monarch butterflies are in decline. Butterflies and other pollinators need our help to protect the balance of our natural ecosystems. We can start by stopping the destruction of habitats and by planting native plants. Monarch caterpillars feed exclusively on milkweed plants. This means that the planting of milkweed and other native wildflowers such as: black-eyed susan, coneflower, aster, bee balm and more, is critical in helping to restore monarch numbers.
